About me

I am Liv, the founder and owner of Liv’s Canines, specialising in dog training and walking. 

My journey in canine training commenced at a young age, as I observed and assisted with working sheepdogs and gun dogs. My affinity for the Border Collie breed, nurtured during my upbringing, led me to become the proud owner of two remarkable Border Collies, Belle and Otis.

Belle arrived in December 2022 and stands as a testament to the trainer I am today. She embodies incredible intelligence and has a remarkable aptitude for learning. Otis then joined the family in September 2023 and together they have been my greatest teachers and influences. Belle is now my working sheep dog and we are working towards competing in trials together, and Otis is my stooge dog for Liv's Canines. I have studied with the IMDT, JRH acadamy and Champion Dog Training.

Outside of my working hours, I’m often to be found on my small holding, spending time with all my beloved animals, and exploring the countryside. 

My passion lies in helping people to understand canine body language and behaviour, I use humane, reward centred methods designed to build understanding, structure and trust, striving to make a positive impact on the lives of both pets and their owners.
